RYLA is a "Rotary Service to Youth Project" conducted at district level comprising a week long "live-in" seminar for young men and women between the ages of 18 and 24 to study and discuss leadership and the community as they affect, and are seen by, the younger age group.
The RYLA mission is ... "To provide an effective training experience that will enable selected young leaders to fulfil their potential and better serve their community, country and place of work".

RYLA Objectives
  • To demonstrate Rotary's respect and concern for youth
  • To bring together people who have evidenced leadership qualities and who will benefit from a seminar covering a balanced programme of lectures, discussion groups and interaction over a week long period
  • To provide information and instruction on subjects of interest and of benefit to these young people through various industry leaders and experts on a wide range of topics
  • To better equip, instruct and encourage promising young people from differing cultures and backgrounds to better serve their community and their country
  • To encourage leadership of youth by youth
  • To recognise young people who are providing service to their communities
  • Provide awardees with an experience they will not forget
