Greymouth Rotary conduct many programs aimed at the development of our youth within our community

Rotary Youth Leadership awards is run by the rotary District of which the Greymouth Rotary Club participates. It is available to youth aged 18-24 and have left school. RYLA is a week long training program to develop strong leadership in youth and publicly recognise the high qualities of our young people
Greymouth Rotary Club runs two speach contests each year. The Secondary schools contest is run at a district level. The subject is chosen by Rotary, with the finalist representing our club for the West Coast finals, the winner then presents their speach at the 'Change over' ceromony june each year.
Greymouth Rotary also recognise the merits in the speach contest so years 7 and and open grade contest is run, the subject is often of the contestants choice.
This is an international program available to children ages 13 1/2 to 16 years old
The student is matched to an Australian student (normaly New South Wales, Victoria or South Australia) and travels from New Zealand and stays with the host family in Australia 02 April 2006 and stay for 13 weeks during which time they will attend school plus join in with normal family life. 25 June both students returns to New Zealand who then live with the New Zealand family.
24 Sept the Australian Student return home.

Information about Rotary Australia /NewZealand Student Exchange is circulated to secondary schools during June of each year
